  • Colorado State University's Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam is meant to be taken by students who are looking to pass into the CSU PACe Program's Math 117 course.

The ELM is an entirely different than CSU's Math Placement Exam. The Entry Level Mathematics (ELM) exam is meant to be taken by students who are looking to pass into the CSU PACe Program's Math 117 course. The Math Placement exam is for students who are looking to pass out of any or all of the CSU PACe Program's courses.

CSU's ELM exam is 20 questions long and you have 90 minutes to complete the exam. The ELM covers mostly algebra with and a little bit of geometry (area of a circle and similar triangles). You are required to complete the four part ELM tutorial that the CSU PACe Program provides you access to.

To prepare for the CSU ELM exam we will use the online tutorial provided by CSU. Depending upon your skill level it can take between 2-4hrs of tutoring to get you prepared to take the exam. I will teach you how to best accomplish each problem, including how to best make use of the calculator.
