CSU Entry Level Math Exam

Overview

CSU's Entry Level Math (ELM) exam provides students the ability to pass into Math 117. For many students, just getting into Math 117 is what they want to accomplish. The ELM is designed for the student who took the Math Placement Exam, and did not place into Math 117, but they need to take Math 117 as a requirement of their major.

  • The ELM can be taken from home using CSU's online proctoring service, or you can take it in person on campus at CSU's Precalculus Center (Weber 138).
  • You are allowed to use a TI-84 calculator on the ELM.
  • The ELM is a 20 question exam, and you are given 90-minutes to complete the exam.
  • In order to be eligible to take the ELM you must have:
    1. Taken the Math Placement Exam at least once.
    2. Passed the 4 section quizzes inside CSU's ELM Tutorial.
